The task of coaching is more difficult than you may think. You throw every ball, you are on your feet for many hours, you mitigate conflict, emotions, attitude and egos all while trying to bring together a cohesive unit to obtain the ultimate goal of gold.
This evening we are proud to honour an outstanding individual into the C5PBA Hall of Fame under the coaches division.
Our inductee has coached for more than 40 years – from youth to adult bowlers.
• 11 coaching appearances at the C5PBA Open championship with singles earning a gold medal in 2009
• He has also coached the Youth Challenge 23 times earning gold in 2000 and 2002
• He has coached YBC nationals 16 times earning 4 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medals.
• He has worked with Special Olympians all of his coaching life and has coached at 5 national events with his athletes bring home 2 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals
• He is a true ambassador of the sport. His passion for helping develop youth is unmatched. Watching him work with the bowlers is truly inspirational.When not coaching, you will find him out raising funds through bake sales, hot dog sales, chocolates, flea markets with all proceeds going back to his bowlers.
• He was named the 2017-18 Special Olympic’s PEI Male Coach of the Year as well the C5PBA Grass Roots Coach of the Year
• On April 12, 2024 he was inducted into the PEI Sports Hall of Fame.
